The Only Tuscany Cycling Experience Built Around You
“Train on the same roads as World Tour cyclists. Then celebrate at private estates where locals actually eat. This is how professionals experience Tuscany.”
Most cycling holidays in Tuscany offer beautiful routes and nice hotels. Sole d’Oro does all that — and then adds something no other operator provides: a dedicated support vehicle following your every kilometre.

Florence born, Florence based
We Don’t Fly In.
We Live Here.
There is a meaningful difference between a guide who has memorised a route and one who has ridden it in every season, in every weather, for over two decades. Between a restaurant recommendation pulled from a spreadsheet and a table held for you by someone whose family has eaten there for thirty years. Sole d’Oro is built entirely on the second kind of knowledge — the kind that only comes from truly belonging here.
25+
Years Riding These Exact Roads
Every climb, every descent, every hidden shortcut through the vineyards — ridden, scouted, and refined over more than two decades of living in Florence and cycling Tuscany as a way of life, not a job. When we say we know this terrain, we mean it the way a musician knows a piece they’ve played every day.

The Only Operator Truly Based in Florence
We are not a seasonal import. We are not a European franchise of an American company. Our base is Florence. Our routes start from our doorstep. Our relationships with winemakers, estate owners, and trattoria families are built on years of genuine friendship — not commercial agreements arranged from another country.
∞
Access That Cannot Be Packaged
The estate that doesn’t accept public bookings. The trattoria that seats locals only. The winemaker who opens his cellar for a conversation, not a tasting fee. These doors open because we are regulars, not tourists — and because our guests arrive as our personal guests, not as a group on an itinerary.
“When your guide grew up speaking the language, eating the food, and riding the roads — you stop being a tourist and start being a guest. That is what Sole d’Oro delivers. Every single time.”

Rider Stories
What Riders Say
"I've done Backroads in Provence and Ciclismo Classico in Umbria. Sole d'Oro was better. The support car meant I could push harder on every climb without a single worry. And the wine estate access? That's not in any guidebook. It exists because these people actually live here."
"We wanted something genuinely special for our silver anniversary — not a hotel package, a real experience. Sole d'Oro delivered both: professional-level cycling support for Valentino and the most romantic, authentic Tuscany I've ever felt as a non-cyclist. The private estate dinners were simply unforgettable."
"I raced professionally in the 90s — I know exactly what real support looks like. Sole d'Oro delivered without exception: spare wheels ready, nutrition perfectly timed, pacing strategy that actually worked. Three top-10 Strava segments in three days. My wife got the photos. We both got memories we'll keep forever."
Premium Add-Ons
Recover like a professional. After days in the saddle, we arrange a full restorative treatment at a handpicked Tuscan thermal spa — so your legs are fresh and your mind is completely at ease.
Go deeper into the estates you ride past every day. Private cellar tours, barrel tastings, and lunch with the winemaker — experiences that simply don't appear in any travel guide.
Swap tarmac for dirt tracks. A private 4x4 takes you deep into working vineyards and hidden countryside that no road bike — and no tour bus — will ever reach.
Every itinerary is different — contact us to tailor your package around exactly what matters most to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it guided or self-guided?
It’s a hybrid. You follow GPS routes independently at your own pace, but the support car shadows you the entire time. Think of it as “self-guided with a full safety net.” If you want a ride leader pedalling alongside you, that’s available as a +€200/day add-on.
What if I'm not fit enough for 70km days?
The support car solves this completely. Feeling tired at km 40? Get in the car for 10km, then hop back on for the final descent into town. Zero judgment. Zero pressure. We’ve had riders do 30km/day and others crush 100km/day — Sole d’Oro adapts entirely to you.
Can I bring my own bike?
Yes, but consider this: our premium rentals (Bianchi Oltre, Pinarello Dogma) are included. Travelling with your own bike costs €150+ each way in airline fees, plus the risk of damage. Our fleet is serviced weekly and fitted to your exact measurements on Day 1. If you insist on bringing yours, we’ll deduct €150 from the price.
How many riders per experience?
Maximum 12 riders. This isn’t a 20-person bus tour. Small groups mean personalised attention, flexible pacing, and authentic access — wine estates can’t host 20 people, but they’ll open privately for 4–6. Most experiences are 2–4 riders: couples and small friend groups.
What's the cancellation policy?
• Cancellation less than 3 days before the start date: No refund (100% cancellation fee)
• Cancellation less than 7 days before the start date: 90% cancellation fee
• Cancellation less than 45 days before the start date: 75% cancellation fee
• Cancellation less than 60 days before the start date: 45% cancellation fee
Can I extend my stay to 5-7 days?
Absolutely. Pricing scales: 4 days / 3 nights: €1,999 per person. 5 days / 4 nights: €2,499 per person. 6–7 days: custom pricing, usually €2,999–3,499. The most popular extension adds the Siena → San Gimignano → Volterra loop — spectacular riding, extraordinary wine.
